Katie is a Project Accountant at Elmbridge and has been with us since she graduated from the University of Surrey in Economics and Finance in 2014. These last three years have been quite a juggle for Katie as she worked as a graduate trainee and studied for her CIPFA* qualification (she went to college 1-2 days every week). Now that she has qualified, she is determined that her learning won’t stop there, in fact she is sharing her love of learning as she has managed a project to introduce more financial skills training across the organisation.
She enjoys the focus and attention her role demands; likes being lost in her work but when she pulls herself away from the numbers, her role allows her to work with colleagues from across the organisation. She feels empowered at Elmbridge; she knows what she has to do and likes that her manager gives her the space to get on with it but is always there when she has questions.
Katie would like to continue to develop herself professionally – learn new skills and grow her experience so that she can progress further and further within the Council – she is certainly a Director or Chief Executive in the making!
* CIPFA stands for Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
