Having joined the Council as an apprentice at only 18, Jack’s steadfast progression has ensured that his role now encompasses the management of others’ development.
Jack began his Elmbridge career in Leisure and HR before transitioning to the Customer Service team while it was in its infancy. As the team began to grow, he soon stepped up from advisor to his current role as Customer Service Team Leader.
Day-to-day, Jack is largely responsible for the entirety of the departments training whether that be working with new employees on necessary core skills, or providing refresher training on council tax, parking and planning, and general enquiries. In short, Jack strives to ensure that every member of the team has the repertoire needed to provide exemplar customer service.
In a similar vein, Jack also provides coaching and mentoring to his team. Working one-to-one with colleagues to both set their goal and devise the necessary steps to achieve them- all to enhance their career development.
One of his biggest challenges to date also prompted one of his proudest achievements. Jack’s completion of his CMI Level 5 in Coaching and Mentoring paved the way for an improved approach to aiding the development of his team.
An avid football fan, Jack hopes his personal progression continues much more smoothly than that of his beloved Brentford FC, beginning with his latest challenge- the IRRV Level 3 certificate, a Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates qualification.
