Jack has been with the planning team at Elmbridge for three and a half years, having started with us in business support for planning. That role ignited his interest in the planning sector and when the opportunity presented itself, he moved into Development Management and is currently studying for a Masters in Planning.
He knows that relationships are key to his role; working closely with residents and developers to ensure planning in Elmbridge is reflective of the character of the borough, as well as meeting national planning criteria and the Local Plan.
His approach to work is to be positive, proactive and organised. Juggling is also a key skill to help him manage the various applications he assesses but the reward comes in seeing the end product and knowing he played his part.
Most of all it’s his supportive colleagues that makes Elmbridge a good place to work; he knows he can rely on them at work, as well as at the pub quiz or during the after work football game.
His advice to anyone starting at Elmbridge is to throw yourself into the work and don’t be afraid to seek the support of your colleagues.
