Earlier this year, Elmbridge Borough Council supported Walton Charity with their Cost of Living Appeal and we will be continuing this partnership by using remaining funds from the appeal to support the charity further this Christmas.
We will be supporting the charity by working with their partner Stripey Stork, a Surrey-based baby bank collecting donations of clothes, toys and essential items for babies and children, to ensure that more children across Elmbridge have a gift to open on Christmas Day. You can also read more about the Santa Stork appeal and find out how you can help.
In addition, we will also be working with Walton & Hersham Foodbank, a part of the Walton Charity family, to support food banks in the local area with vouchers up to the value of £2,500. This will help them to supply food hampers for those most in need. The food banks that will receive vouchers are Runnymede, Cobham and East Elmbridge, and these hampers are due to be delivered just in time for Christmas.
Cllr Bruce McDonald, Leader of Elmbridge Borough Council comments: “We are pleased to be working with Walton Charity as strategic partners in support of our residents at Christmas. With the high costs of living, we want to continue our support through our partners to help our community to thrive.”
