The Mayoress, Mrs Agnieszka Williams, hosted a very successful Ladies’ Lunch at Oatlands Park Hotel, Weybridge, on Friday 6 October, raising funds for the Mayor’s chosen charities, Oasis and the Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund.
The Mayoress was pleased to welcome over 50 ladies from across the Elmbridge Borough and Surrey including current and former Mayors, Mayoresses and Councillors. Guests were entertained by actress and author, Debbie Arnold, who related stories of her life and passion for charity work.
Amna Boheim, Trustee, Director & Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator at Oasis, spoke about the vital work that founder Caroline Edwards and her devoted team do to support vulnerable families in Elmbridge and beyond. She spoke about the shocking statistics that show the enormous levels of abuse in families and how Oasis’ need for funds is greater now than ever before.
Guests were very generous in raising funds for Oasis and The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund. The Mayoress was very grateful for the support from so many local businesses for their donations to the raffle, which helped to make the event such a success.
The Mayoress said: “I was delighted to see so many people and hear them enjoying themselves. My thanks go to everyone who came and contributed to help raise funds for our chosen charities and, of course, to our brilliant speakers.”
The Mayoress also shared how the Mayor, although terrified of heights, plans on taking to the skies and completing a tandem parachute jump to raise funds for Oasis and the Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund. If you would like to encourage him by donating, please visit his Just Giving page.
