Just around the corner from Walton High Street, the Walton Centre for the Community on Manor Road has been providing support to the community for over 40 years.
Currently, the Centre is looking for new Meals on Wheels drivers, who help us to provide hot meals to vulnerable residents every day of the week. A lunchtime round takes just a couple of hours, with drivers taking a round weekly or fortnightly.
Newcomers will be joining a team of dedicated volunteers. There’s Phil, who helps deliver Meals on Wheels when he’s not serving hot drinks in the Centre’s Tea Bar. You may also meet Annette, who looks after the Community Garden and monthly plant sale, or Baz, who runs a weekly Computer Club to help people learn to use their laptops, tablets and phones.
If you are interested in volunteering for Walton Centre, please contact the Community Support Team at commservices@elmbridge.gov.uk, or visit Volunteer with community support for more information.
Not sure what role would be right for you? Our volunteering officers will be holding a drop-in session at Walton Library on Monday 24 July. Just pop in between 9.30am and 3.30pm and the team will be on hand to answer any volunteering queries you might have.
