A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) has been implemented in a specific area of Walton-on-Thames since March 2018. The PSPO was extended in February 2021 for a further three years, taking it to March 2024. PSPOs have a maximum 3-year term before they are legally required to be reviewed.
Elmbridge Borough Council is proposing to expand the area covered by the existing Walton-on-Thames PSPO for one year until March 2024 due to the displacement of some of the anti-social behaviour. The expanded area would include a large part of North Walton - the St Johns estate. Please see PSPO map (PDF, 4.86 MB) which identifies the proposed area extension and lists the roads covered. You can also view the existing PSPO restrictions on our website.
You are invited to complete the public consultation which runs from 16 January to 11.59pm on 31 January 2023.
This month will also see a CrimeStoppers zone being implemented in the St Johns area to encourage crime reporting. This will include signage on lamp columns and in communal area in PA properties, along with social media. We are holding a drop in session at the Cromwell centre to answer any questions on Tuesday 24 January 2.30 to 3.30pm.
