In support of a thriving Elmbridge, we were delighted to host the Weybridge Job Centre Plus job fair at the Civic Centre in Esher on Thursday 5 September.
Employers from around the borough, including NHS Surrey Heartlands, Walton Charity and Pie Events were among the twenty employers attending the fair to talk to prospective employees and to support them with job applications. As a key local employer, Elmbridge Borough Council also attended.
Cllr Kirsty Hewens, Portfolio Holder for Enterprise, Parking and Local Economy was pleased to support the event:
“Recruitment events are so important for both local companies and prospective candidates and it is great that we were able to host this event in partnership with our local job centre. Providing the opportunity for candidates and employers to speak to each other face-to-face is invaluable and as an important local employer I am pleased Elmbridge Borough Council officers were also able to showcase vacant roles at the council.”
Julie Sarwal, Employer Advisor for the Department for Work and Pensions said: “We were happy to bring the jobs fair to the Civic Centre in Esher to help connect employers and job seekers together. We welcomed around 100 customers to the event and had some great feedback from employers about the quality and professionalism of the local job seekers. The events are great way to bring opportunities out to the community and we hope to see lots of positive outcomes for job seekers from the event.”
