The Mayor, Councillor Richard Williams and his wife, Agnieszka Williams, hosted a very successful Charity Ball at Hilton Hotel, Cobham on Friday 1 March raising over £20,000 for their chosen charities Oasis and The Mayor of Elmbridge Trust Fund.
The Mayor and Mayoress were pleased to welcome over 100 guests from across Surrey and the beyond including, Councillors, Mayors from neighbouring Boroughs and other dignitaries. The room looked stunning with black décor, candelabras with entwined lights and ivy. Fundraising took place during the evening with the traditional raffle and auction. Guests were very generous whilst they enjoyed the delicious three course meal. The wonderful Ketsymagic provided entertainment wowing guests with his magic tricks and elusions. Live Element Band played all the favourite tracks that kept guests dancing until their carriages arrived at midnight.
Caroline Edwards, Founder, Director and Trustee at Oasis spoke about her dedication and passion for Oasis. She highlighted the shocking statistics that show high levels of abuse occurring in families and shared how her devoted team support such families in Elmbridge and how Oasis’ need for funds is greater now than ever before.
The Mayor and Mayoress are extremely grateful for the continued support from Chelsea Football Club, also UPilates and many local businesses for their generous donations.
