Following an investment of over £150k as part of the £6m investment pledged by Places Leisure to refurbish Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex, a new health suite has now opened. It includes two different steam rooms, a salt room, a sauna, and heated loungers.
It is located just steps away from the gym to help visitors in their post-workout relaxation and recovery routine.
If you are just looking to relax in the new Health Suite, you can join Xcel on a health suite only membership at just £30 a month. Existing Xcel gym members have the option to upgrade their membership to the Premium Plus plan to include access to these new facilities.

As part of the new 10-year contract awarded to them in April 2023, Places Leisure pledged a £6m investment to refurbish Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex to provide the local community with an outstanding leisure provision that they can be proud of for the long-term future.
It was agreed that Places Leisure would create a new state of the art health suite on the first floor, which includes a sauna, salt room, multiple steam rooms and heated loungers. This means that the poolside sauna and steam room, which were at the end of their usable life, will close. However, the jacuzzi which underwent a 50K refurbishment in 2021, and the showers will still be available to use with a swim.
Together with Places Leisure, we are committed to reducing the carbon footprint of leisure facilities and following the recent investments in solar panels and sports hall LED lighting at Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex, decommissioning the ageing sauna and steam facilities on poolside will further reduce our environmental impact.
