With autumn here and recent storms leaving gardens, paths, and patios covered in leaves, many will be using leaf blowers to tidy up. However, these devices can be quite loud. Please remember to be considerate to your neighbours and the environment when clearing leaves:
- Minimise disturbance for everyone: leaf blowers can be disruptive. Consider informing your neighbours when you plan to use them and find a time that works for everyone.
- Be considerate when using leaf blowers: direct the airflow away from neighbours' homes and common areas to reduce noise impact and avoid blowing the leaves onto roads/pavements.
- Choose quieter models: if possible, opt for electric leaf blowers to reduce noise pollution and contribute to a more pleasant environment. Although more expensive to purchase, they are cheaper to operate in the long run, and have less environmental impact.
Better yet, consider raking and sweeping as a quieter, more eco-friendly, and efficient way to tidy up.
