
Elmbridge Museum invites you to make waves, explore local history in 3-D, and ride the wheel of history with their free events during the Easter holiday!
Making Waves Events:
Discover the inspirational story of local champion Amy Gentry. Amy was a trailblazer in women's rowing, breaking barriers and making waves in a sport traditionally dominated by men in her time. Her journey is a testament to passion, skill, and dedication, inspiring generations of women to pursue their dreams in sports.
Join us for hands-on fun activities to learn more about this remarkable local figure:
- Monday 7 April from 10am to 12pm at St. George’s Church, 69 High Street, Esher KT10 9RQ. Book your spaces.
- Tuesday 8 April from 10am to 12pm at Dittons Library, Mercer Close, Thames Ditton KT7 0BS. Book your spaces.
- Wednesday 9 April from 10am to 12pm at the Xcel Leisure Complex, Waterside Drive, Walton-on-Thames KT12 2JG. Book your spaces.

- Age Range: children aged 5 to 12. Parents must remain with children throughout the session.
- Price: free event
- Format: drop-in sessions, but advance booking recommended.

Gathering Place 360 Event
Elmbridge Museum has teamed up with Gathering Place 360 to offer you an immersive historical experience, followed by activities linked to your virtual visit.
- Watch virtual reality 360 films inspired by four historical sites in Surrey. Each film is 5 - 6 minutes long, and you will be able to watch them using VR headsets provided on the day. They will introduce you to four re-imagined characters who will tell their stories through text and movement.
- Explore the Bronze Age, Medieval, Tudor, and World War I eras, and the archaeology of Surrey through creative history workshops based on the films.

- Monday 14 April 2025. Timed 1H30 slots at 10:30am, 11:10am and 11:50am
- Where: Hersham Centre for the Community, 7 Queens Road, Hersham KT12 5LU
- Age Group: 9+ and anyone eager to learn about history and have fun
- Cost: Free, but booking is essential

Elmbridge Museum is proud to be part of the Surrey Wheels of Time programme, encouraging young people to visit museums and heritage venues across the county.
