On the evening of Tuesday 16 September, Elmbridge Borough Council welcomed passionate local organisations, individuals and community groups to an inspiring information session at Lower Green Community Centre, marking the beginning of a new chapter for our community spaces.
As part of our Connected Communities initiative, the event invited attendees to explore how they could lead our vibrant Community Hubs, which will be inclusive spaces designed to support residents and foster connection and wellbeing.
It was great to see so many local community groups and organisations in attendance.
Councillor Gill Coates, Portfolio Holder for Community Care, shared
We were thrilled to see such energy and enthusiasm from those eager to lead the way in building thriving and inclusive hubs across Elmbridge. The event sparked meaningful conversations and laid the ground for productive future partnerships that will help ensure that, together, we are extending our support to many more people in Elmbridge.
If you missed the session but are interested in running a Community Hub, it’s not too late. We’re welcoming expressions of interest from groups and individuals ready to lead a Community Hub until 1 October 2025. Please email commservices@elmbridge.gov.uk for further details and to receive the expression of interest form.
In the meantime, we will continue to keep residents updated through our website, social media channels and information at centres, and services at our centres will continue.
