Refurbishment works at the Long Ditton Recreation Ground Play Area are set to begin on Wednesday 3 September, with improvements expected to take approximately five weeks to complete.
The project will include the replacement of the Junior Multi-Play Unit (MPU), seesaw, and springers, as well as the renewal of all safety surfacing. New gates and seating will also be installed to enhance the overall experience for families and visitors.
“We’re excited to begin these upgrades to the Long Ditton Play Area,” said Cllr Simon Waugh, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Culture and Commercial Strategy. “We want to create a safe and enjoyable space for children and families. We appreciate the community’s patience during the refurbishment and look forward to welcoming everyone back to a refreshed and improved play area.”
Long Ditton Ward Councillors, Cllr Jez Langham, Elizabeth Laino and Neil Houston, added:
“The refurbishment and development of the children's play space completes a series of great improvements to the facilities on Long Ditton Recreation Ground. This, plus investment in tennis, basketball and the new gym equipment means that every age group and ability now have reasons to get out and enjoy the area's brilliant green space!”
