Weybridge Centre services will relocate this week to their new home at the Weybridge Library Hub, which opens to the public on Tuesday 30 September.
Weybridge Community Services will operate from the library hub, from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 3pm. This move continues the current service offer and creates opportunities to develop new activities in collaboration with Weybridge Library services. It forms part of our Connected Communities initiative, marking a new chapter for our community centres, with local organisations, individuals, and community groups taking the lead in running vibrant and thriving Community Hubs, ensuring no one is left behind.
Weybridge Centre services programme of activities
We are working closely with Surrey County Council to finalise a programme that makes full use of the new facilities at the Hub. Further details will be shared once the programme is confirmed.
Organisations that currently deliver activities for Weybridge Centre customers may have opportunities to work alongside the team at the Library Hub or hire one of the many spaces.
Catering
Initially, a cold food offer will be available from the first floor. A new hot food café menu is planned to launch in October.
What to expect at the Hub
This modern, multi-purpose hub brings together a wide range of services and organisations under one roof, creating a welcoming environment for residents of all ages to connect, access support and take part in community life.
There will also be an opening event on Saturday 29 November to celebrate this new community facility. Save the date with more details to follow.
As well as being the new home for Weybridge Centre services, you will also find at the new hub:
- the new Weybridge Library with a new activities schedule
- Surrey County Council’s Families First - which brings together a range of services and practitioners to work collaboratively with children, young people and their families
- Runnymede Locality Team, Northwest Mental Health Social Care Team and Runnymede Reablement Team
- Brooklands Radio which plans to start broadcasting from this location in late October/early November.
A space for everyone
The Weybridge Library Hub is designed to be a flexible, inclusive space for the whole community. Whether you're seeking advice, a quiet place to read, a venue for your group, or a space to work, the Hub offers a welcoming environment for all.
From the second week in October, several hireable spaces will be available, including three meeting rooms, a hall and hot-desking areas. Full details, including room sizes and facilities, are available on the Weybridge Hub webpage.
You are invited to come along and explore everything your new community hub has to offer when it opens on 30 September.

The construction work is now nearing completion for the brand-new Weybridge Library Hub.
In the meantime, the library service will continue to operate from its temporary location at the Weybridge Centre for the Community until 6 September.

We look forward to welcoming everyone there soon!
8 July - update
Weybridge Centre and Library Services

16 May update
Discover what’s coming to the new Weybridge Library Hub
Surrey County Council invites you to a special resident engagement event on Friday 6 June, from 2pm to 8pm at St James’s Church Hall, Weybridge (access via Churchfield Road Car Park, KT13 8DB).
This is your chance to preview the exciting plans for the new Weybridge Library Hub, which will become the new home of Weybridge Community Services when it opens in Summer 2025.
Elmbridge Community Services have been successfully sharing space with library services for many months, and we look forward to continued collaboration in the new Weybridge Library Hub. The hub has been designed to allow users to seamlessly move between the traditional library spaces and the event and activity spaces available for community groups including our own community services. We are working with Surrey County Council exploring how we can make best use of these spaces. At a time when social isolation is a growing concern, this flexible community space will provide residents with a welcoming place to connect, interact, and find support.
The new Hub will bring together a range of services under one roof, including a modern library, Brooklands Radio, Youth Services, and Elmbridge Community Services. It was designed with inclusivity and accessibility in mind, to ensure it is welcoming to all.
Whether you're a local resident, community group, or simply curious about what’s coming, we encourage you to come along to Surrey Council’s preview event to explore the plans, and share your thoughts.

The building works will include comprehensive external refurbishment of the existing structure, expanding the ground floor and full internal refit of all interiors providing accommodation for a variety of services.
When this work begins in April 2024, a reduced library service will share space with the Weybridge Centre for the Community. The details of this are still being finalised and please be assured that plans were in progress for this well before the temporary closure of the Weybridge Centre for the Community in November due to service safety concerns.
You are invited to a hear more about the Weybridge Hub at a drop-in event on 25 January, hosted by Surrey County Council at Weybridge Library from 4–7pm.
At the event, information will be available on all the improvements and collaboration taking place to create the new Hub and partnership work being undertaken to provide a library provision during the refurbishment works.
You will also be able to view approved plans for the library and input their ideas to the look and feel of the library and future event programming of the library space. Video content showing a 3D walkthrough of the plans for the improved library area will be shown.
The event is for everyone who wants to find out more about the plans for the new Weybridge Hub and the timetable for the refurbishment of the library due to open in Spring 2025.
No booking necessary. Just drop in to Weybridge Library, Church St, Weybridge KT13 8DE
