We have installed electric vehicle charging points in our main town centre car parks. This work included the installation of new underground power cables that will allow extra charging points to be added where required.

Our electric vehicle (EV) charging points are located at:
- Hollyhedge Road car park, Cobham
- Churchfield Road car park, Weybridge
- Civic Centre car park, Esher
- Drewitts Court car park, Walton-on-Thames
- Claygate Centre for the Community (Elm Road, Claygate, KT10 0EH)

Molesey Centre for the Community’s EV chargers are only available for employees and public use during Centre opening hours, as the car park is closed when the Centre is not in use.
Four fast 11-22kW electric vehicle charging points are available at each of the locations.
Each twin charger provides a maximum 22kW to one vehicle, or 11kW to 2 vehicles when both sockets are in use.
Fees
The chargers operate on the Mer network.
Tariff: 47p per kWh
Parking charges apply during operational hours (8am to 7pm, Monday to Saturday).
Use the Mer phone app to charge your vehicle on a ‘pay as you go’ basis or become a registered user with access to features such as monthly billing and your charging history. Visit Mer: How EV charging with MER works for details.
Future projects
The move away from petrol and diesel towards electric-powered vehicles helps to reduce carbon emissions and improve our local air quality.
Expanding electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure is complex and involves stakeholders such as private businesses, distribution network operators and local authorities. While we are installing EV charging points in key locations, we will also be working with partners such as Surrey County Council (SCC) to help expand the network where appropriate. To find out more see: Surrey County Council: Electric vehicles and on-street chargepoint roll out.
Our Carbon Management and Reduction Plan supports the installation of EV charging points and our Parking Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides detailed guidance on EV charging:
