Temporary road closures

Information on how to apply for a temporary road closure for a community event or procession.

If you are organising a community event or procession that is taking place on the road or public highway, you will need to apply for a temporary road closure . It's free and once granted will allow you to close the road to passing traffic during your event. You need to give at least 6 weeks' notice.

Apply for a temporary road closure

If you are holding your event or procession on private land or off the road you will not need to apply for a road closure.
