This strategy has been shaped and developed in response to the following key drivers:
- Vision 2030 - our council plan, setting out our priorities and driving everyday performance
- organisational transformation – part of our Vision 2030 - a 3-year transformation programme to ensure we have the right services, in the right places for our residents
- digital agenda – the need to embrace new ways of working, harness the benefits of the latest technology and provide the tools our employees need to do their jobs effectively
- workforce engagement - the need to become capable and effective at developing strong relationships across our services and teams
- equality, diversity and inclusion – to embrace a diverse workforce allowing us to attract top talent, better understand our community’s needs and foster an inclusive environment that drives innovation and success
- talent development – to improve our employee skills base through investment in the development of our people
- workforce planning – the need to plan for our workforce, particularly around hard to fill roles, so that we can continue to deliver services
- wellbeing – the ongoing need to create a culture where wellbeing is fully embraced and understood, ensuring we take a preventative approach
