Walton: Church Street/Bridge Street
Walton (Church Street/Bridge Street) Conservation Area was designated by Surrey County Council on 11 November 1974. The boundaries were amended by Elmbridge Borough Council on 21 June 1983 and 6 February 1996 reflecting changes in the townscape during this period. An extension was added on 10 April 2013. It is based on the historic road junction of Church Street and Bridge Street and includes the Grade l listed Parish Church of St Mary.
A Character Appraisal and Management Plan document (endorsed in 2013) has been produced covering both conservation areas in collaboration with local residents, councillors and council officers facilitated by consultants.
Walton: Riverside
Walton (Riverside) Conservation Area was designated by Elmbridge Borough Council on 1 December 1975 and extended on 10 April 2013 to include the public open space to the north of River House. It is based on a small area known locally as Old Walton and includes the Grade l Listed Manor House.
A Character Appraisal and Management Plan document (endorsed in 2013) has been produced covering both conservation areas in collaboration with local residents, councillors and council officers facilitated by consultants.
