You can be considered as homeless if:
- you don’t have anywhere to live
- you are likely to lose your home in the next 56 days
- it is not reasonable for you to remain in your home
- you cannot gain entry to your property
- you are at risk of violence in your property

The team will aim to prevent you from becoming homeless or delay this wherever possible.

Do not give up any accommodation voluntarily before checking what your rights and options are.
Do not leave contacting us until the last minute.
How we can help
If you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, we will:
- provide information and advice to help prevent homelessness
- help you remain in your home wherever possible
- help to secure accommodation if you are homeless or likely to become homeless
- carry out an assessment of your circumstances and needs and agree a personalised housing plan
You can also access online housing advice and get an action plan by completing part one of the online application for the Housing Register.
We may be able to take further action or access specific help from other professional agencies if you are:
- leaving prison or youth detention accommodation
- a care leaver
- leaving the regular armed forces of the Crown
- leaving hospital after medical treatment for physical injury or illness or mental illness or disorder as an inpatient
- have a learning disability
- receiving mental health services in the community
