Premises licence provisional statements
A provisional statement is a way of checking if we will grant a premises licence before you need one.
You can apply for a provisional statement if you are:
- building or planning to build premises
- planning to alter a premises
You’ll need to complete an application and provide a plan of the proposed licensed area.

You will need to submit your completed form and pay the correct fee. For more information see fees and charges.
After applying
After submitting your application, you must:
- display your blue public notice at or on the premises for a minimum of 28 continuous days starting the day after the application was submitted
- advertise the application in the local paper and pay any costs
- send a copy of the advertisement to licensing@elmbridge.gov.uk
- send a photo showing the notice on display to licensing@elmbridge.gov.uk
